Premier League Team of week 36: Mo No Team Of The Year

It was a pretty standard week in the top flight of English football. The top two teams won, the next four didn’t, and everyone else went about their business. Our algorithm has weaved it’s spell to produce a leader board, and from that we’ve compiled our Premier League team of week 36.

Goalkeeper: Sergio Rico. Fulham 1-0 Cardiff City.

Cardiff have averaged 3.2 shots on target per game this season, but they had eight in the final 20 minutes or so at Craven Cottage. Rico kept them out, and might have sent the Bluebirds down as a result. Read More

With the top two both winning, and the next four surprisingly picking up just one point between them, the big action this week was at the bottom of the table. But how many players from the wrong end of the division made it into our XI? Here’s our Premier League team of week 35.

Goalkeeper: Mat Ryan. Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-0 Brighton.

Premier League Team of Week 34: Paul Pogba’s Penalty Prowess

The Premier League weekend was almost a week, seeing as it was stretched across four days. Liverpool and Manchester City continue to battle it out at the top, only three points separates the rest of the big six, and are Cardiff done and dusted? If they are, it didn’t stop them contributing to our Premier League team of week 34.

Goalkeeper: Neil Etheridge. Burnley 2-0 Cardiff City.

Were it not for the efforts of Etheridge this season, Cardiff would surely have been relegated already.

Premier League Team of Week 31: The Main Man(é) Strikes Again

There were only five top flight games in England this weekend, but that’s no reason not to highlight the best performing players. Here’s our Premier League team of week 31.

Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel. Burnley 1-2 Leicester.

Schmeichel only saved one shot at Turf Moor on Saturday. But he also made two punches, a high claim, and played a couple of relatively high value long passes as we can see here.  Read More
