The big match of the weekend may have ended goal-less, but there were plenty of goals elsewhere. It was a struggle to find forwards for the team of week seven, but the top seven players on this week’s leader board are all attackers, so our 4-3-3 is geared towards goals. But our Premier League Team of week 8 begins with a man whose team didn’t have a great weekend. Read More
Half a buck! The drinks (glasses of tap water) are on me! Jokes aside, as it was only $0.25 to enter this particular contest, that’s a pretty good return on investment, wouldn’t you say? Let’s see who Twelve’s algorithm has selected for week eight. Read More
It’s week seven in the Premier League, and almost a fifth of the 2018/19 campaign is in the bag already. The game of the weekend was Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, but only players from one side in that match make it in here. We also have seven debutants, including some very big names showing their faces in these parts for the first time. The Premier League team of week 7 begins with a player who only played one half of their match.
Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno. Arsenal 2-0 Watford.
Leno replaced Petr Cech in the Gunners’ home win over Watford, yet despite only playing for 47 minutes, he topped our defence leader board this week. That he was able to do that probably explains why there are no Arsenal defenders in this team. Read More
Here at Twelve, we’ve been wondering if we can use our algorithm in order to do well at fantasy football. To test the theory, we’ve been playing Draft Kings‘ weekly Premier League game, in which you have to select players from their chosen matches.
Our performance has been on an upward trend, but we’re still short of taking home the cash prizes. Perhaps as more player data is accrued for 2018/19, we’ll get even better? We can but hope. Here are the matches for this week’s game, which players would you select?
There’s a breath of fresh air about our team of the week in week six. For the first time we’re going with a 4-2-3-1 formation. There’s no sign of regulars like Tarkowski, Pogba or Hazard, and we have a whole host of debutants. The likes of Harry Maguire and Jorginho both win their second TOTW caps of the season, with the latter putting in the performance of the week.
But did he actually contribute all that much at the London Stadium? We’ll come to that in due course, and we’ll begin with a shot stopper who hasn’t received too many positive notices in 2018/19. Read More
Round four of the 2018/19 season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with Leicester City vs Liverpool at the King Power Stadium. The former league champions from 2015/16 will play host to the current table-toppers.
The Foxes prepare to welcome Liverpool on the back of successive victories against Wolves and Southampton, but they will face a daunting task of halting the rampant Reds and their perfect start to the campaign. Leicester will be looking at Harry Maguire to maintain his fine run of form, but will it be enough to stop the inspired Liverpool?
It feels great being a Liverpool supporter at the moment. The Reds have made a sensational start to the new season with three straight victories, despite putting in a slightly below-par performance against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out. Read More
James Tarkwoski and Paul Pogba were both in our teams of weeks one and two, but did either or both of them make it a hat-trick? One thing is for sure, there were a lot of excellent performances by centre-backs this week, so we’ve naturally switched to a back three to accommodate them. Oh, and if you want to share a dashboard, click on the player’s name in the text above it, and it’ll take you straight there. On with the show… Read More
