Liverpool vs Cardiff City Preview: Bluebirds to puzzle Liverbirds?

Liverpool haven’t looked much like losing too often recently – aside from in their debacle in Naples, or when Manchester City got a late penalty at Anfield – but neither have they been tearing teams apart. Prior to their 4-0 win against Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday, the Reds hadn’t scored more than once in their preceding five matches. What can we expect from their game against Cardiff City?

The visitors cause won’t have been aided by Liverpool’s Champions League endeavours. The Reds’ first choice attacking trio all scored in midweek. It was the first time they’d managed that feat this season, but the ninth in the 14 months that Mohamed Salah has been at the club.  Read More

Premier League Fantasy Football Picks: Week Ten

It’s time to review our selection process for the Draft Kings game. Last week’s team was not very successful, but neither was it entirely without merit. We suggested Mohamed Salah was due three goals and he duly obliged this week. Sadly for this competition two of his tally came against Crvena Zvezda, but he still bagged 19 fantasy points with his goal against Huddersfield.

Asmir Begovic got 13 points for his clean sheet against Southampton, but those two aside our team was a flop. So we’ve revised our strategy, but before we get to that, here are the matches from which we have to select our eight players this week.

Leicester City vs Liverpool Preview: Summer Additions Make Difference for Reds

Round four of the 2018/19 season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with Leicester City vs Liverpool at the King Power Stadium. The former league champions from 2015/16 will play host to the current table-toppers.

The Foxes prepare to welcome Liverpool on the back of successive victories against Wolves and Southampton, but they will face a daunting task of halting the rampant Reds and their perfect start to the campaign. Leicester will be looking at Harry Maguire to maintain his fine run of form, but will it be enough to stop the inspired Liverpool?

Liverpool vs. West Ham United Preview: Naby Keita key for Klopp

Liverpool go into the season as second favourites to win the 2018/19 Premier League title. If they are to make their supporters’ long standing dream a reality, they will need to be stronger at home. They may have gone unbeaten at Anfield for only the seventh time in their top flight history in 2017/18, but they also only won 12 times; the Reds only won fewer in nine of the preceding 25 Premier League seasons.

In fairness to Jürgen Klopp, five of their seven draws were against teams who finished in the top eight, and it looks unlikely West Ham will do that well this season. Or won’t they? After all, with four days to go in the transfer window, the Hammers were the second top net spenders behind Liverpool.

The east Londoners also have a new manager in the shape of Manuel Pellegrini, which makes it tricky to know how they’ll play at Anfield on Sunday. The Chilean has employed a 4-2-3-1 formation in five of their six pre-season matches, but the combination of Slaven Bilic and David Moyes only used that system five times in the league last season. The Hammers picked up just one point from those games, so hopefully their new signings perform better than the players they have replaced. Read More
