It must’ve been a great weekend for Manchester City, as they got two players more than Liverpool into our XI. That’s what football’s all about, right? Here’s our Premier League team of week 32.
Goalkeeper: Ben Foster. Manchester United 2-1 Watford.
Foster saved two clear-cut chances, and completed as many final third passes as Jesse Lingard.
Right-back: Cesar Azpilicueta. Cardiff City 1-2 Chelsea.
Luckily for Dave, algorithms don’t care whether you should’ve been flagged offside or not. Neil Warnock cares though. Really cares.
Centre-back: Wes Morgan. Leicester City 2-0 Bournemouth.
We usually select Harry Maguire for our fantasy football team. In his absence due to suspension, we opted for Jonny Evans. Morgan, naturally, got on the score sheet.
Centre-back: Kurt Zouma. West Ham United 0-2 Everton.
West Ham were so poor, Zouma barely had to do any high value defending, as you can see here.
Left-back: Patrick van Aanholt. Crystal Palace 2-0 Huddersfield Town.
Midfield: Aaron Ramsey. Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle United.
Ramsey got the opening goal on Monday night. Arsenal are really going to miss him next season.
Midfield: Abdoulaye Doucouré. Manchester United 2-1 Watford.
Doucouré scored his fourth league goal of the season in the Hornets’ defeat at Old Trafford.
Midfield: Bernard. West Ham United 0-2 Everton.
Our top player this week was busy in the box and tidy in defence further back.
Forward: Bernardo Silva. Fulham 0-2 Manchester City.
City didn’t need to do too much to put Fulham to bed. Bernardo Silva scored one goal and assisted the other, so did as much as anyone to secure the points…
Forward: Sergio Aguero. Fulham 0-2 Manchester City.
…though Aguero obviously helped by scoring the second to definitely ensure City’s win.
Forward: Anthony Martial. Manchester United 2-1 Watford.
Martial had three clear-cut chances, and that will usually be enough to secure a spot in our team. The one he converted turned out to be the winning goal.
