Success! Well, of sorts anyway. Our team last week picked up a total of 94.5 points, for our second highest tally of the season, to finish 23rd out of 144 entrants in our particular league. As predicted, Chelsea swept aside Huddersfield, so Hazard picked up 30.75 points while Arrizabalaga earned 14. With hindsight, we should’ve selected more Blues.
Draft Kings‘ game has six matches from which we can pick our team in week 26, so by using our algorithm to find the players who have performed best over the last six weeks, we’ve assembled our VIII. Before we reveal our squad, here are the matches.
With Liverpool desperate for three points when they take on Bournemouth – read our preview here – and the visitors on a bad run, it would make sense to choose their players. Our leader board agreed, so we’ve gone with Andy Robertson, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. One to set them up, two to knock them in.
Someone else who should have some good chances to score this weekend is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. While he isn’t quite at the top of the leader board, you shouldn’t ignore any half decent forward who is playing Huddersfield. Their shot-shy attack means the goalkeeper facing them should always be in your fantasy football thoughts too. Bernd Leno will duly be wearing the gloves for us on Saturday.
Away from the bigger teams, we’ve filled the rest of our side with low cost but high performing players (by our measure, at least). We have Declan Rice, who’s up against an erratic Crystal Palace team, Kurt Zouma, who should be busy but not necessarily beaten at Watford, and Ben Mee, who will be looking to keep Brighton at bay on the south coast in the late kick-off.
Here’s our full fantasy football week 26 team. Good luck, folks!
