A common theme of our fantasy football selections is that we have a couple of players who do well, but the other six let the side down. Exhibit A: our team from week 23. Aside from Paul Pogba and Roberto Firmino, who both scored, nobody else in our squad picked up double figures. Maybe this is the week our fortunes change?
Draft Kings‘ game has six matches from which we can select our team, so by using our algorithm we’ve found the players who have performed best over the last six match weeks, and chosen our squad. Before we reveal our Fantasy Football week 25 team, here are the matches.
Something unusual happened this week: we were able to select the top seven players on our leader board (plus Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal) so that should’ve been that. Usually the cost of the players involved renders that an impossibility, yet we even had money left over this week.
But it also presented the problem with comparing an overall assessment of player and their usefulness in a fantasy football game. Our case in the point is the man who is top of our tree: Jorginho. He contributes lots to Chelsea’s build up, but he hasn’t scored or assisted a goal since the opening day. Sorry, Jorge Luiz Frello Filho, you’re out.
We did keep one Chelsea man though: Eden Hazard. Facing Huddersfield is basically the dream ticket for attackers, so we had no issues with including the Belgian.
He’s joined up front by Aleksandar Mitrovic, who should be full of confidence after his brace on Tuesday, and we’ve also included another Fulham goalscorer from their crazy match with Brighton, Calum Chambers. Both were in our latest team of the week, as if you need further convincing.
The pair of Cottagers will be up against Luka Milivojevic, who has made the cut, so hopefully they don’t cancel each other out too badly. He’s joined in midfield by Joao Moutinho, who we think will do well against an inconsistent Everton side.
Throw in Nathan Aké and Kurt Zouma (so don’t be too inconsistent please, Toffees) and we have our squad. Here’s our full fantasy football week 25 team. Good luck!
