Premier League Fantasy Football Week 23 selections

Our week 22 team may not have won us any money, but we did pick up more points than we have for quite some time. Mohamed Salah top scored with 18.5 points, with the likes of Ben Foster (15) and David Luiz (14) also making decent contributions.

But, much like Supergrass, we’re in it for the money. Draft Kings‘ game has seven matches from which we can select our team in week 23, so by using our algorithm to find the players who have performed best over the last six weeks, we’ve assembled our squad. Before we reveal all, here are the matches this week.

Draft Kings Fantasy Football Week 23 matches

The first decision this week was to entirely ignore the Arsenal vs Chelsea game. Neither side is in great form in ‘big six’ matches, so it’s too hard to figure out who will do well. They could easily cancel each other out.

Away from that, there are two top sides with very winnable looking home matches. Leaders Liverpool host Crystal Palace, while Manchester United take on Brighton. We’ve elected to go with two players from each home side in those games.

For Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk should be able to get a clean sheet, plus he also popped up with a goal and an assist last month so may offer something up front. Someone who definitely will for the Reds is Roberto Firmino, so he’s in too.

Up the M62, David de Gea was our goalkeeper in our latest team of the week so is included here, and Paul Pogba has been a man reborn under Solskjaer, so makes the cut too.

Two of our choices go up against each other: Roberto Pereyra and Ashley Barnes will both be looking to get on the score sheet in the Watford vs Burnley match. That leaves two berths for fairly regular selections of ours, Nathan Aké and Felipe Anderson.
