Whisper it, but fantasy football games are really difficult to do well at. We certainly proved that with our attempt at Draft Kings‘ Saturday contest prior to the recent international break. Long-term Twelve favourite Roberto Pereyra was the best of our bad bunch, but as none of our players got into double figures, that’s damning the Hornet with the faintest of faint praise.
As always, we go again. Here are the matches which are included this week.
Top of the leader board tree is David Silva. Not that I’m surprised; he’s virtually a permanent fixture in our team of the week. The Spaniard is accompanied in our team by his Manchester City team mate, Raheem Sterling. The champions travel to West Ham on Saturday. The Hammers have only beaten the likes of Burnley and Manchester United at home this season, so it should be a gentle stroll for City.
It’s easy to poke fun at United, but two of their players are in our squad this week. José has reportedly laid into Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Jesse Lingard for lacking character. Whether he has, and whether they do isn’t relevant to us though; Martial is in the team. As is David de Gea, who will surely pick up a clean sheet when Palace’s powderpuff attack pitches up at Old Trafford.
A pair of players isn’t limited to the Manchester clubs though. Brighton host Leicester, and we’re placing our faith in Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk to keep the Foxes in their den. Leicester’s away record this season has gone L-W-L-W-L-W, so what greater evidence do you need that Brighton will win this one?
Virgil van Dijk and Gylfi Sigurdsson complete our line-up, which you can see in full below. Good luck, friends.
