It’s time to review our selection process for the Draft Kings game. Last week’s team was not very successful, but neither was it entirely without merit. We suggested Mohamed Salah was due three goals and he duly obliged this week. Sadly for this competition two of his tally came against Crvena Zvezda, but he still bagged 19 fantasy points with his goal against Huddersfield.
Asmir Begovic got 13 points for his clean sheet against Southampton, but those two aside our team was a flop. So we’ve revised our strategy, but before we get to that, here are the matches from which we have to select our eight players this week.
Rather than looking at the data for the whole season, we have excluded games played in August. This has generated this leader board, and it should give us a better idea of the players who are in form at present.
With only one of the big six in action, it makes sense to include their players if we can, and not least as they’re at home to a newly promoted side. That man Salah makes the cut again, as does Alisson who has yet to concede a league goal at Anfield.
Salah is joined up front by Joshua King of Bournemouth, who was Twelve’s Premier League player of the week two match weeks ago. He’s up against a Fulham team who are six goals clear in the race to have the worst defence this season. King should get chances.
Etienne Capoue scored last week and has picked up two ‘team of the week’ caps in the last four matches, so he gets a berth in our midfield. Alongside him is Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. Southampton may have struggled this season, but there’s no kinder fixture than a home game against the worst side in the division.
Our side is completed by Joao Moutinho of Wolves, Harry Maguire of Leicester and Shane Duffy of Brighton. Here’s the team in full, good luck!
